Many homeowners might be mulling to get remodeling done in their houses this year. The market slump has indicated that people would prefer to go for remodeling rather than buy a new home.
The process of getting remodeling done is not an easy one and some planning and research is required. Before hiring a contractor for the job, plan everything out. When the plan is clear there are minimal chances of misunderstandings and increase in the budget.
Before going in for remodeling, confirm whether the job can be done by a general contractor or a specialty trade contractor is required. Mostly general contractors are preferable if the remodeling includes multiple areas or the house itself and specialty contractors are only called for individual works like tile work and flooring. The details of the agreement need to be in writing and it should include the price, payment terms, specific work, materials used and an estimation of time. Before signing on any agreement verify the credentials and license of the contractor.

Fort Greene, NY is home to the popular Habana Outpost eco-eatery, and this favorite neighborhood hangout has just received a prestigious award for its bathroom design. The Habana Outpost is among the top ten finalists in America's Best Restroom competition, which is in its tenth year.

The unusual contest started out as a branding effort from Cintas corporation, but has since taken on a life of its own. The ultimate winner will be selected by a committee of bathroom experts based on style. People can also cast votes for their favorites and view galleries of previous winners online. The Habana Outpost was nominated for its tropical theme and eco friendly simplicity. It doesn't compare to other nominees in terms of luxury, as some of its competitors feature things like ninja-themed bamboo and heat-sensitive toilet seats.
