Support Gay Rights
Many people who consider themselves humanists or decent people, overlook the importance of gay rights. It is important to remember that no matter what your personal convictions are toward homosexuality, gay people are human beings. They are still someone's child. They are someone's sister or brother. They are someone's spouse or someone's parent.
When setting out to support gay rights as a straight person you might at first be unsure of what to do. Fortunately there are many support groups set up that are happy to welcome straight members. After all you do not have to be gay to support the human rights of those who are.
You can show your support of gay rights by joing groups, attending gay rights parades, voting on legislation aimed at ending the opression of the LGBT community, and making donations to various organizations that support these causes.
